Your FAQs: Implant-Supported Partials

The world of dental implants and your many options may be surprisingly diverse and plentiful as you begin learning more. You may have initially thought that the only option available to you was an implant with a dental crown. However, you find out that you may choose a partial denture with the support of implants and suddenly, you realize that perhaps addressing multiple missing teeth while gaining the benefits that come with implants may be easier than you imagined! Of course, you probably also have some questions to ask us. Let’s start with FAQs (and we can move on from there during a visit).

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How many dental implants will I need for my partial denture?

Answer: It depends on the amount of teeth you’re missing, the way those teeth are organized, etc. We can say that you do not need one implant per missing tooth. Instead, you will require fewer than the amount you lost.

Question: Why should I consider a partial denture?

Answer: You may with to consider a partial that is supported by dental implants if you want the benefits of implants but you would prefer to avoid replacing every tooth with individual implants. This is often beneficial in light of budgetary constraints or a desire for additional convenience.

Question: Is a partial basically the same as a bridge?

Answer: No. They do both address multiple missing teeth. However, a bridge can stand in for up to three teeth but only if they are sitting by one another. A partial can replace more than that (and with many more patterns of loss).
