Losing a single tooth can lead to problems with the health and appearance of your smile. So, imagine what losing multiple, or a majority, of your teeth can do. In order to return your smile to full function and health, we will need to replace these missing teeth. Fortunately, we can do so with an implant-retained prosthetic. If you’ve lost multiple teeth, we can help you enjoy a beautiful and whole smile again.
Facial Collapse
When you lose multiple teeth, the body will register the loss of your tooth roots. The body then suspends the flow of calcium and phosphorus to the surrounding jawbone. Without these key nutrients, the jawbone tissue dissolves. Soon, you can develop an older appearance as you experience facial collapse. In addition, remaining teeth can become lost as well. However, by placing dental implants you stimulate the growth of jawbone tissue, preserving facial structure and surrounding teeth.
Implant Bridges
Instead of using crowns to anchor the new teeth in place, which requires the loss of surrounding tooth structure, we will insert dental implants. The implants then hold the new teeth in place while stimulating jawbone growth. While traditional bridges can last between 10 and 15 years, an implant-retained option can last for decades, possibly a lifetime.
Implant Dentures
If you’ve lost a majority of your teeth, then you need a full set of dentures. In the past, these were removable and required natural suction to hold them in place. However, with dental implants we can provide fixed prosthetics that don’t slip when you speak or eat. You can eat a greater variety of foods and enjoy a whole smile.
Teeth in a Day
If you’ve already lost jawbone tissue, but still want to obtain implant dentures, we can recommend teeth in a day. Instead of being held in place with six to eight implant posts, we only use four specially placed ones.
