Do you have missing teeth? If so, putting off your treatment could mean major complications for your smile. Why not see us to discuss dental implant placement? If you have dental insurance coverage, then you have benefits you can use now, before they expire at the end of December. In today’s blog, your Livonia, MI, dentist talks about implant dentistry and dental benefits!
Your Dental Benefits
With dental insurance, you have a set number of benefits you can use in the year, and these expire at midnight on December 31st. Likewise, if you have a health savings account, then your funds may not roll over into the new year. Instead of losing these, make sure you use them before the year ends! Our team can help you understand the extent of your coverage, so we can plan treatment that not only fits within your busy holiday schedule, but your budget too. If you have missing teeth and want to address this issue, then talk to us today, so we can help you use your benefits to complete your smile!
The Dental Implant Process
Dental implants are far stronger and longer-lasting than traditional dental prosthetics. Each implant post is made from biocompatible titanium. We insert this small screw-like post into the jaw, guided with digital technology. We choose an angle and position to ensure a stable and durable new tooth, and to help stimulate the growth of jawbone tissue, to prevent the complications of tooth loss. This allows your new tooth to last, and protects your natural ones as well. Once the placement area heals, we can attach an abutment that will then extend above the gum line. A custom-made crown is then connected to the abutment, securing the visible portion of your new tooth. The crown will be designed to blend with your smile and at the same time, offer a durable chewing surface.
What About Multiple Missing Teeth?
If you have several gaps in your smile, or if you have lost most of your teeth, then several posts can be placed into your smile to support a bridge or denture. In some cases, a full set of dentures could be fixed in place with as little as four dental implant pasts. We also have Teeth-In-A-Day and Mini Implants if your jawbone isn’t strong enough to support traditional ones. Some could even be placed and completed in only one visit, so you leave our office with a full smile!
